Split System Air-Conditioning

Split System Air Conditioning

A cost effective, space saving choice for heating and cooling in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs; you can’t go wrong with Split System Air-Conditioning.

Split System Air-Conditioners are a great way to heat or cool a particular room or area. Using a unit on the outside of the building and a wall-mounted unit on the inside, Split System’s are a great space saver while being ultra quiet.

How does it work?

As the name suggests, a Split System Air-Conditioner is split into two units. The outdoor unit contains a compressor, which initiates the cooling process and an indoor unit that contains an evaporator and a fan. These two units are connected by a series of copper pipes.

The indoor unit draws heat and water vapor out of the room, through a copper pipe and into the outdoor unit. Here the compressor circulates a refrigerated gas and compresses the air through a series of pipes. The cooling system in the outdoor unit removes heat from the gas, turning it into a cold liquid. This cold liquid is then pushed through another pipe back into the indoor unit. The unit then uses a fan to blow the cool air back into the house.

Why choose Split System Air Conditioning?

Split System Air-Conditioning in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs will save space in your home while giving you the ability to both heat and cool from the one unit. With electricity costs climbing ever higher in the eastern suburbs, Split Systems are also an energy efficient way to heat and cool individual rooms.

All our Split System units come with air filters that reduce the flow of dust, bacteria and other contaminants, keeping you and your family healthy. With the bulk of the Split System’s work done outdoors there’s also no harsh fan noise inside your home, making the units almost silent while in use.

Types of Indoor Units

At Alpine Heating and Cooling we offer a range of indoor unit types to suit your heating and cooling needs.

Wall Mounted Split SystemHigh-Wall

The most popular indoor unit; high-wall units are mounted on a small amount of wall space near the ceiling. These units fit seamlessly into any décor and are both quiet and energy efficient. The temperature can be controlled easily using an infra-red remote control.

Ceiling CassettesCeiling Cassette

These extremely discreet units show only the grill of the unit in the ceiling. Providing both heating and cooling; ceiling cassettes are very popular in offices, restaurants and café’s as well as new homes.

Under Ceiling Cassette

Under Ceiling Cassettes

In situations where there is little to no false ceiling an under ceiling cassette unit is ideal. They also include side discharge grills allowing for an even spread of air while not directly blowing down.

Floor MountedFloor mounted air conditioning

Perfect for a room where there is little to no wall space, floor mounted units are great to install below a window. The floor unit can also fit perfectly into an unused fireplace or be semi-recessed into the wall. With either ‘top’ or ‘top & bottom’ air discharge, these units distribute air evenly to every corner in the room.
